Baptism of the Lord Sunday
January 11, 2026

On Sunday, January 11, Pleasant Hill UMC will observe Baptism of the Lord Sunday with a meaningful service centered on identity, grace, and belonging.

Pastor Pete’s message, “Named and Claimed,” will reflect on Jesus’ baptism in Matthew 3:13–17 and the deep promise at the heart of our faith: baptism is first and always something God does. It is God’s act of grace, perfect in its giving and lasting forever.

Both services will include the Ritual of Baptismal Remembrance, offering worshipers an opportunity to remember God’s enduring claim on their lives and to renew their commitment to live as God’s beloved people.

Service Times and Styles
• 8:45 a.m. – Modern-style worship in the Family Life Center
• 11:00 a.m. – Traditional worship in the Sanctuary

Whether you come to remember your baptism, to reconnect with your faith, or simply to be reminded of who you are and whose you are, you are warmly invited. This Sunday offers a moment to pause, remember, and step forward grounded in grace.

Come and remember that you are named, claimed, and loved by God.

(Note: For those not yet baptized, this Sunday might be an
important time for you to take the first steps in
understanding what baptism is all about.
Know that Pastor Pete would be
honored to assist you along the journey.)
