Many years ago, the United Methodist Women’s group at PHUMC occasionally provided a meal for the students at the Wesley House located at Winthrop University. Since we no longer have an official UMW group, this activity fell to the wayside.
The Missions Team would like to revisit this tradition and is scheduled to provide a meal on Monday February 23rd. Here’s the plan for 12-15 students:
3 pans of baked ziti (pan and recipe provided. Note: 1 pan needs to be meatless)
4 bags of salad (tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, & carrots on the side)
2-3 loaves of Italian bread (Verna has volunteered to make these!)
3 desserts (~ 4 dozen total of cookies and brownies)
The Missions Team welcomes your help with filling any of the above needs. Please see the Sign-up Genius if you would like to help provide some happiness and full tummies to some students!
You are welcome to join the students for dinner also and get to know them. We just need to know how many to expect. Please contact Janice Poston or Peggy Gray with any questions.
