On Sunday, October 5, Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church will join Christians around the globe in celebrating World Communion Sunday at both the 8:45 a.m. modern service and the 11:00 a.m. traditional service.
World Communion Sunday began in the 1930s as a way to remind the Church that, despite differences in culture, language, and tradition, we are united in Christ through the breaking of bread and the sharing of the cup.
Today, millions of Christians across denominations and continents gather on this day, proclaiming the truth that the Lord’s table has no borders.
At Pleasant Hill, we observe an open table, meaning all who desire to follow Christ are welcome to receive Communion. Whether you are a member or a guest, new in faith or long along the journey, you are invited to share in this sacred meal of grace.
Come and experience the joy of worshiping in unity with brothers and sisters around the world. Together, we will proclaim: “Because there is one loaf, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.”
