“The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.” ~ James 5:16b
One of the often unseen but deeply impactful ministries in the life of our church is the work of our prayer team. Week after week, individuals come together not for recognition or applause, but to faithfully lift up the needs of others before God.
James reminds us that prayer—especially when offered in righteousness and faith—is powerful and effective. Prayer may not always bring immediate answers, but it always brings change: sometimes in situations, sometimes in others, and often in ourselves. It draws us closer to the heart of God and opens us to see the world with greater compassion and hope.
Intercessory prayer is more than a quiet moment. It is a ministry. It is a way of loving our neighbors and partnering with God in the ongoing work of healing, reconciliation, and renewal.
As you read this, consider: who is God calling you to pray for persistently—not just once, but faithfully? And how might your own life be transformed as you entrust their need to God?
We give thanks for those who serve through prayer and the co-leaders of our Prayer Team: Barbara Ramsey and Meta Smith. We invite anyone who feels called to this ministry to reach out and learn more.
