Pleasant Hill UMC offers classes studies and activities for every age. Sunday School Classes meet between Sunday morning worship services at 10:00am. Classes for Children and Youth are held in the Sanctuary/Education Building (Bldg 1). Adult Classes are held in the Fellowship Building (Bldg 2). Most other Studies and Activities are held in the Family Life Center (Bldg 3).
Sunday School Classes for Children and Youth are divided into three groups:
PreK to Grade 2, and Grade 3 thru Grade 5 meet on the first floor of the Sanctuary Bldg. (John McGinn Room)
6th Grade and higher meet in the Youth Room/Basement area of the Sanctuary Building.
We use a faith-based curriculum and all teachers are trained in Safe Sanctuary.
Examiners Sunday School meets in Room 2101 (Bldg 2), They are currently using the Wired Word, a weekly email with 2 current topics and questions that bring the story around to it's relevance to Christians. The story and questions help get a discussion going. Chuck Yost and Lou Spitzer co-lead the class, the reality is that the topic and questions start the conversation.
Treasure Seekers Sunday School usually meets in Room 2102 (Bldg 2) but they are currently meeting with the Agape Seekers in Room 2105 and studying Simon Peter by Adam Hamilton.
New Beginnings Sunday School meets in Room 2103 (Bldg 2)
Extraordinary Life meets in Room 2104 (Bldg 2) and is beginning Rev. Adam Hamilton’s latest study published in December 2025. The title is “WHY DID JESUS HAVE TO DIE” “The meaning of the crucifixion.” The lessons explore multiple New Testament metaphors explaining the crucifixion’s meaning and how Jesus’ death brings salvation, helping us understand its impact on daily life. Purchasing the book is not required to attend. The book is available on Amazon. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Agape Seekers meets in Room 2105 and is currently studying Adam Hamilton's book Simon Peter. It is written as a 6-week study, but students are encouraged to put themselves in the disciple's shoes and share their thoughts. The study started in November and they have just completed chapter 3. All are welcome to join at any time.
Monday Evening Bible Study: The Gospel of Matthew. Written around 80–90 A.D., Matthew's Gospel was treasured by the early church for its ability to connect Jesus’ life and teachings to the Old Testament promises. Matthew presents Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah—the fulfillment of prophecy—while also showing how Jesus’ teachings shape daily discipleship. Famous passages such as the Sermon on the Mount, the Great Commission, and the parables of the Kingdom are found in its pages. If you are curious about the Bible, eager to grow in your faith, or simply hungry for community and conversation, this study is for you. Tuesday Bible Study: The Book of Acts. This study will follow the early Church as the Holy Spirit empowers ordinary believers to live with extraordinary courage, share the Good News, and navigate real challenges with faith and purpose. Messy Church - What is Messy Church? A multi-age, once a month opportunity for people to build relationships with God and their community.
We share a meal, enjoy a Bible story and enjoy some great songs and followed by an application time filled with fun activities for everyone!
